Baked or fried? You may already have heard of Calzone. Basically its a pizza folded in half and baked as normal. Can be any size but as a lunch or snack that you can hold in one hand, smaller is better. Same flavours and texture as a normal pizza.
Panzerotti is more exotic to kiwis. It is the same as a Calzone but instead of baked, it is deep fried. I was skeptical before I tried one. Mind blown! The texture and taste of fried pizza dough is awesome. Originating as Italian street food, it is now very popular in North America. Sure it has a few more calories, but who eats pizza every day anyway! As a snack drinking beer watching the rugby or a lunch on the go - perfection.
